About the Company:

Our client is a busy and growing commercial construction company that provides interior finish solutions, wall panel services, and acoustic treatments and have worked with Microsoft, Shopify, LinkedIn, BMO, Pepsi, Hewlett Packard, Questrade, University of Toronto, and Bank of Canada. They are seeking to add an Estimator to their growing and dynamic team

Responsibilities:

• Receive tender invitations by email
• Review documents to determine potential scopes of work to bid on
• Enter takeoff information into Microsoft Excel takeoff spreadsheet
• Provide tender and takeoff information to supplier for pricing
• Request colour samples from suppliers and have them sent to clients for approval.
• Use Print to CAD software to create AutoCAD files from IFC drawing package
• Create shop drawings from IFC drawing set
• Confirm takeoff quantities
• Assist with other project management requirements as needed
• Develop bids for construction projects using Excel
• Travel to building sites to site measure as required (optional, based on experience)

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year experience in the commercial construction industry
• Minimum 4 years experience using AutoCAD and Excel
• Minimum college diploma or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
• Computer proficient including 2D AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel
• Ability to read and understand architectural construction drawings
• Ability to read and understand architectural specifications
