About the Company:
Our client is a telecommunications company and a leader in the technology construction and infrastructure sector. They service public and private customers across North America for over 10 years! They are expanding at a rapid pace and are looking for a Wireless Foreman to join their team in Vaughan, ON!
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for leading/assisting a crew of 3-5 technicians on a range of projects
- Maintain communications between crew members
- Assist and maintain the enforcement of governmental and company health and safety policies
- Attend pre construction walks when required
- Provide leadership and guidance to promote learning and furthering of junior crew member skills and abilities
- Staying apprised of construction progress, concerns, deviation from plans or schedule and ensuring quality control of work
- Preparing rigging equipment including beams, pulleys, clamps, and bolts for Communication Tower and Cell Site installation, antenna modifications/additions and routine maintenance
- Installation and testing of telecommunication equipment (cellular antennas, microwave antennas, transmission lines and connectors)
- Perform tests to locate transmission faults and repair or replace defective equipment on the tower
- Performing general ground procedures and activities required for the construction of sites
- Maintain tools, company vehicles, equipment and inventory
- Identify safe working conditions and take a proactive approach to maintaining them
- Scheduling, resource management, health & safety, material management and driving overall successful of project completion
Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years of Aerial tower climbing, rigging and rappelling experience
- Valid Ontario Driver’s license with a clean abstract and a reliable vehicle
- Experience with general wireless construction including installation of equipment, steel mounts, cabinets, cable tray, conduit, microwave, power equipment, batteries and grounding systems
- Experience with cable systems including fibre optic, data, copper and power
- Canadian or international experience with wireless carriers and major equipment vendors including Ericsson, Nokia, Bell, Rogers and Telus
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, engineering and construction drawings
- Possess physical ability to work in a full body harness on rooftops and/or towers
- Valid Working at Heights, Fall Arrest and Protection certifications
