Material Handler/General Labourer

$17.00/hourly

They have over 800 employees and four manufacturing plants and have built a strong reputation in their advanced technologies that meet their consumer’s needs.

They are seeking a Material Handler to assist in the manufacturing process.

Responsibilities:

• Order processing
• Move raw material, scrap and product / coils, bins and containers (crates, baskets, etc.) according to process flow and supervisor/manager directions
• Unload and load material from supplier trucks as requested by supervisor
• Receive Bills of Lading into computer system
• Pick product as per orders
• Receive incoming purchased goods and/or WIP as per bill of ladings
• Transport product and complete reports as required
• Maintain safety standards of equipment and work area according to procedures and as instructed by the Supervisor / Manager
• Actively participate in continuous improvement, dimensional quality concerns and customer issues, and supports departmental goals and objectives
• Ensure work areas and machines are kept clean, organized and tidy at all times
• Store equipment and tools properly when not in use
• Performs other duties as assigned by a Supervisor / Manager

Requirements:

• Previous work experience in stamping environment is beneficial
• Punctual, reliable and able to work overtime if required
• Minimum High School Diploma
• Certified in use of counter-balance forklift
• Certified in use of overhead crane for loading coils into machines
• Valid Forklift Operating license
• Experience moving and handling coils with overhead crane
• Prior work experience in an automotive stamping environment would be an asset
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Contributes to a positive work environment by demonstrating and sharing functional / technical knowledge
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Ability to lift and carry boxes up to 30 lbs unassisted
