About the Company:

Our client is a telecommunications company and a leader in the technology construction and infrastructure sector. They service public and private customers across North America for over 10 years! They are expanding at a rapid pace and are looking for a Excavator Operator to join their team in Vaughan, ON!

Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently operate mini-excavator, track loader/skid steer, backhoe and small dump truck

• Perform excavation for all underground utilities, including grass and pavement

• Perform all necessary maintenance and adjustments, keeping the equipment/vehicles in a safe, clean and tidy condition
• Perform daily circle checks and report any defects, perform small repairs if necessary in a prescribed manner

• Read and understand construction drawings

• Drive and reverse a small dump truck with a trailer

• Perform all tasks to eliminate possible hazards

• Assist with installation of trenching, backfilling, conduit system and other manual labour as directed by supervisor (heavy lifting required)

• Other duties as requested by Supervisor

Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• 5 years operating experience
• Certification in operating mini-excavator (3.5 to 8 tonne)
• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving abstract
• Ability to work in diverse weather conditions
• Ability to work long hours
• Able to carry unrestricted amounts
• Must possess mechanical aptitude, an understanding of the Highway Traffic Act and knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
• Experience using hand tools
• Proficient time management skills and flexibility in adjusting between a variety of duties
• Ability to work as a team player as well as independently
• Excellent communication skills
